Port Canaveral Hosts ‘World’s Biggest Wave Out Party’ for Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas on her Maiden Voyage

Port Canaveral this weekend welcomed Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Prima-Plus Class ship, Norwegian Aqua, which will operate a seasonal schedule of week-long cruises from her new homeport to beautiful destinations in the Caribbean and Bahamas.

Port Canaveral set a new monthly record for most passenger movements when it hosted 925,994 guests in March, eclipsing the last year’s March passenger counts by 16%.

Port Canaveral will be homeport to Carnival Cruise Line’s LNG-powered Carnival Festivale, which will set sail from the Space Coast in 2027.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District command leadership, hosted by the Canaveral Port Authority, provided U.S. Rep. Mike Haridopolos (FL-8) with a waterside tour of multiple projects totaling over $150 million in Federal funding that ensure the continued safe navigation of Canaveral Harbor and preserve Brevard County’s shoreline.

In remarks delivered to the National Space Club Florida Committee, Canaveral Port Authority CEO Capt. John Murray outlined the Port’s significance in the local and state economies and its longstanding support of America’s space program in the Cape Canaveral area.

The Canaveral Port Authority received a commitment from MSC Cruises that includes the deployment of the fourth World Class ship in the 2027-28 cruise season.
